How can a beer personify the spirit of Nevada? The answer began on a cocktail napkin at Newman’s deli on California Ave in Reno, Nevada in the winter of 2007.  And so began DuPuis’ venture to create a brand with a truly unique perspective, that sticks (quite literally) to its guns, and holds a steady base around the core of its straightforward motto: It’s just beer.

Battle Born™ Beer is just that, beer.  Available in at least 10 locations in Nevada and ready for any special event, Battle Born™ Beer personifies the beliefs of a no-nonsense, anti-marketing-and-fluff crowd who want straightforward products, honesty and simplicity. So while everyone else tries to invent the next pumpkin nut brown ale, we figured we’d keep it simple and give ‘em what they asked for: the simple satisfaction of a good beer.

With the opportunity to lead every step of this brand-building process– from manufacturing, retail and distribution to promotion and thought leadership– DuPuis was able to build a strong, uncompromising brand with the spirit of Nevada: prideful, consistent, rugged, and genuine.

When looking for the right vehicle to promote and distribute Battle Born™ Beer, there really was only one truck fit to be the Battle Born™ flagship truck: a Divco (Detroit Industrial Vehicle Company). We searched far and wide for the right truck… from California, to Utah, Illinois, Massachusetts and finally, after an inquiry to Model Dairy in Reno, we were connected to a retired driver (Wes) who was looking to sell his old truck, a Divco. Now a preacher at the Washoe County Jail, Wes gave us the run-down on his 1957 Divco.  Today, we’re happy to call this memorable truck the official flagship vehicle for Battle Born™ Beer.

Battle Born™ also has an iconic presence at the bar; first debuted at Slice of the Peak in Reno, NV, Battle Born™’s unique shotgun handle beer tap can be seen at six Nevada locations including First Bar, River Peak Grill & Taproom, Silver Peak Restaurant and Brewery, The Lil’ Waldorf, and now MacKay Stadium (in the South End Zone concession area), who have all joined the Battle Born Beer family and offer this no-frills, straight forward and authentic beer.
