Walden Farms

Walden Farms manufactures and markets a portfolio of low-calorie products, spanning numerous categories including salad dressing, syrup, coffee creamers, spread, dips and sauces. Since 1972, Walden Farms’ mission has been to develop specialty food products that help people with positive nutrition management. We partnered with Walden Farms to modernize its multi-category portfolio and celebrate contemporary healthy eating by updating its branding and packaging across categories from salad dressing to condiments.

Challenge

Walden Farms’ multi-category portfolio of better-for-you dressings, creamers, sauces, spreads, and dips spoke to a restrictive calorie-counting approach to weight management. In order to attract a new generation of consumers pursuing a balanced lifestyle, Walden Farms needed to modernize and simplify its brand look/feel, improve communication and shelf impact, and increase the brand’s perception of “natural.”

Action Taken

In support of this goal, DuPuis worked with Walden Farms to modernize branding and packaging, drive consistency across categories, and communicate its all-natural point of difference by focusing on appetite and benefit communication. We removed dated dieting references, such as a measuring tape, and replaced it with delicious photography, an evolved brandmark, and concise architecture that highlighted the goodness of the product.

Results

Walden Farms’ diverse portfolio now feels at home with modern condiment brands and speaks to today’s healthy consumer. From salad dressings, to mayos, to spreads, and creamers, Walden Farms is celebrating feeling good inside and out.
